TWINSAVER HONOURS REAL WOMEN WITH REAL STORIES AHEAD OF WOMEN’S MONTH.

Twinsaver, a popular household brand and voted South Africa’s favourite toilet paper brand*, has launched their #CelebrateWomen campaign with the objective of celebrating strong, courageous and inspirational women.

The new Twinsaver special edition Twin Ply toilet paper packaging has been specially designed to highlight breast cancer awareness during women’s month. The special edition Floral Fresh pack has a lightly scented pink core, designed to gently release a fresh fragrance. The brand is South African and represents the confidence shown by 18 inspiring women

One of those women is Jenna Skews, a young woman who has shared her story with us and we wish to share it with you for a possible write up/feature or Q&A.

Jenna Skews discovered she had malignant Phyllodes tumor at the start of her matric year. Jenna was scared and confused as to why this was happening to her at the tender age of 17. Jenna was told her tumor was a sarcoma, meaning no radiation or chemotherapy was needed. However, she was later informed she had to have a mastectomy done to remove all possible threat of malignant cells.

“I’m an average girl – a daughter, sister, girlfriend, and friend.”

Being a teenager, Jenna had to deal with many difficult emotional stages most girls her age never think about. She had a lot to process and the emotional and physical stress was daunting but she didn’t let this bring her down, she had so much to achieve in her life. Despite the challenges of her diagnosis she continued her studies and managed to complete high school.

Jenna believes the key to survival even when people think you have reached your lowest point is to look at what lies ahead. Focus on your goal and not your current circumstance. There is always a great opportunity that lies ahead and that is the driver to conquering any challenge.

“I knew I would change, but I definitely did not fade”

As a survivor, breast cancer awareness is a matter very close to her heart, she feels women of all ages need to educate themselves because it could happen to anybody.
