The new Twinsaver special edition Twin Ply toilet paper packaging has been specially designed to highlight breast cancer awareness during women’s month. The special edition Floral Fresh pack has a lightly scented pink core, designed to gently release a fresh fragrance. The brand is South African and represents the confidence shown by 18 inspiring women

One of those women is Innocentia Mahlangu, an ambitious young woman who has shared her story with us and we wish to share it with you for a possible write up/feature or Q&A.

A woman is known for her strength, but finding out you have breast cancer in your early 20’s can be overwhelming. Innocentia, a 23-year-old mom to a 5-year-old daughter is from Tsakane Township in Joburg East. When she discovered she had breast cancer she was shocked and couldn’t believe it was possible because of her age.

“It is rare to a find a young black girl but here I was.”

When Innocentia discovered she had breast cancer, she felt lost and alone. During this hardship, she became closer to her sister and through her sister’s support, realised the value of life and good health. This is now her daily motivation and she has instilled this in her beautiful daughter.

“Always look at the bright side of life. There will always be a silver lining”

From her experience, Innocentia emphasises more Cancer awareness is needed in township areas because education helps to de-mystify myths surrounding the disease. She knew she was strong and was capable of living life to the fullest. As a breast cancer survivor, she is a shining example of a young woman determined to own her life.
